There is no way that I’m the only one who does not enjoy the automated answering messages I receive when trying to contact a company/bank/office for assistance. Finally reaching a “live” person sometimes takes many minutes or longer. The long wait times are spent listening to music or advertisements. Sigh!

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus gives yet again, sage advice to us, if we are weary and feel burdened, we are to come to Him and He will give us rest. He continues in verse 29 to say, “Take My yoke upon you, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul.” What a wonderful, comforting suggestion, but how many of us heed His advice?

Dialing in, connecting to Jesus is easier than calling the power company. Think about that…your peace, your burdens relieved, your sins forgiven, your life enriched, grace extended, comfort given are easier than pressing 1, 2 or 3. Take His hand. He is gentle and will give you the rest and comfort your mind and body need. Jesus loves you unconditionally and is closer than a rotary dial, closer than a smartphone, closer than an automated message. He lives in your heart and sits on ready for you to seek Him and know Him. Be blessed knowing His connection never fails.
