This title is a take-off on a 12-step saying: Each day a new beginning. It is meant to remind us that we can always begin again with a fresh slate at any time. We make a big deal about celebrating the New Year as an opportunity to change our lives, change our hearts, begin again with goals that we want to accomplish.

However, the reality is that we don’t have to wait for a new year to begin these actions. Each moment of our lives can be a new year. The calendar and clock don’t dictate the “days” of our lives. Our determination to start anew can begin in a blink of the eye.

Unfortunately, our good intentions can also be discouraged in the same time frame, resulting in disappointment and depression. The most wonderful part about living a faith-filled life is that we are supported by a God who loves us unconditionally. God understands that we will make mistakes. We will stumble. We will dig in our heels and refuse to accept the grace which He freely gives.

And He loves us anyway. And He continues to send the grace. And He smiles with delight when we recognize what we have done and change direction-again. Read Ephesians 4:23,24.
