We all have them, those messy days when more goes wrong than right. You could say I’m in a “messy one” today – nothing serious, just a frustrating day. Woke up with a head cold, an old fashioned tissue consuming bout. Well, I thought, I’ll tackle the laundry. But somehow a bright red cloth napkin slipped in with my “whites” and I now am in the owner of an ample supply of pink bath towels. Maybe some hot homemade soup for lunch would cheer me up, but I found it still frozen in a solid block. And now a blog must be written; my mind is a frenzied blank!
I remember hearing the good advice that when you start feeling stressed, detach yourself from the disturbances around you. Since I can’t seem to control my little world today, maybe I can turn it over to God. His Peace is always there, if I just seek it. If I open my eyes to see this day from God’s perspective, the frustration may melt away. With gratitude for His abundant blessings, I can see today’s “messes” as simple petty annoyances. And wonder of wonders, it may even turn into a blog!
Our Lord Jesus said “Peace I leave with you.” Not just when the music of worship warms your heart, not just when your day is sunny and you’re full of ambition, not just when loved ones are surrounding you with their encouragement, but even in the “midst of a messy day.” How wonderful is that – His unconditional love surrounds us even in the midst of our messes.

A wonderful testimony for all to remember when we, too, have days such as you had.
