Are you a baseball fan? A triple play is quite exciting and if you are lucky, it may happen a few times in a season for your favorite team. Bing. Bang. Boom, three outs and the inning is over. WOW! The wild cheering will vibrate the stands for certain.
Do you know how blessed we are to have God present Himself to us in “triple play” form? The Triune God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are the embodiment of all we need. How incredibly glorious!
The book, The Shack (written by William P. Young and also a movie), portrays God the Father, throughout the book/movie as an African American woman, who loves to cook, and also as a Native American guide. Then in some chapters/scenes God as a young, svelte nymph-like being, the Holy Spirit and as a young man, carpenter, as the Son.
For those who cannot fathom a triple play in baseball, or struggle with the concept of a spiritual Father, Son and Holy Spirit, may you be wow-ed and awed by the blessing of a Triune God and His power to work in and through you in so many powerful ways. When you grasp the richness of this blessing, you will be cheering for certain.
Do not limit your team or favorite player in baseball. Realize with certainty, a baseball triple play can happen and it is thrilling. Do not limit your God, He will present Himself to you as the Father, Son or Holy Spirit and fill your needs with His unconditional love.
