How I Love Thee, Let Me Count the Ways

Elizabeth Barrett Browning gave us these words in one of her famous poems.  Love can bring out the poet in us, as that emotion stirs within.

In Greek (the language of the New Testament), there are several words for love.  C. S. Lewis wrote a book, The Four Loves and describes four Greek words and their meanings for LOVE.

Storge: empathy love, like a parent for a child

Philios: friend love, some as close as siblings, common values and interests

Eros: being “in love,” romantic love

Agape: unconditional “God” love, the greatest of the four loves Lewis explains.

How blessed are we, let me count the ways! We have the gift of God’s Son and the hope of our salvation and life eternal. John 3:16. We will know and embrace the AGAPE love from our Heavenly Father and know His unconditional love in our everlasting life. Glory to God in the Highest, we are loved with Agape love, unconditional love.  Seek Him.  Repent.  Forgive as you are forgiven.  Except His grace and await with open arms your embrace of Agape.

This is a beautiful reminder and explanation of the four kinds of love, AGAPE my ABSOLUTE favorite and most important in each of our lives.
