Coincidence? I think not!

In early July, we will have lived Florida for three years. As most of you have experienced, it is difficult to leave your old life and start a new adventure after living in one place for 35 years.  The physical moving is a monumental task in itself, but the emotional move poses an even bigger challenge as you leave behind what is familiar and comfortable for the unknown time ahead.

Since our move to Florida we enjoy the blessing of living near family.   We have made wonderfully caring and giving friends and enjoy an abundance of activities to keep us entertained in our community.  I believe we were led to Joy, our new church home with its excellent worship services and messages, numerous opportunities for community outreach and additional caring and giving friends.  The Lord has provided for us as he always does.

We were reminded of His loving provisions the very moment we arrived in Florida. The drive was mostly uneventful. We had only three hours of our nearly four-day trip remaining and had just crossed the state line into Florida.  As we literally passed the “Welcome to Florida” sign The U-Haul truck my husband was driving had two tires simultaneously blow out causing the truck to fishtail and fling tire chunks everywhere.  Fortunately, he was able to avoid an accident as was I while swerving through flying tire remnants.

The rest area was perfectly positioned for us to limp in, get off the road and out of the way of speeding traffic and call for assistance.  We had a cool place to wait and walk our dog none of which could have happened if the blow out had happened even a hundred yards before or after. Coincidence?  I think not!

The U-Haul repair man arrived and fixed the problem and we were on our way “home” in 45 minutes.  We did not take this as a bad “omen” for our new life but realized once again the Lord provided everything we needed at just the right time.

Philippians 4:19 tells us My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory to Christ Jesus.

How blessed we are to have this awesome God in whom we can trust and we know loves us unconditionally and provides for our every need.
