Teeny Small Minutia

The headlines of newspapers, the 4 o’clock news, the 5 o’clock news, the 6 o’clock news, the social media bursts of news, are not my “thing.”  Ok, that definitely makes me like the ostrich with his head in the sand.  It is not a case of being disinterested, but so much negativity makes it difficult to digest and troublesome. I am fully aware and pray for World Peace and our first responders and the medical world facing the horrors of this pandemic of 2020, victims of the virus, the economic nightmare…BUT, our God is so incredibly awesome!  He knows my thoughts that just flit through my heart and brain. A tiny, infinitesimal, want or wish or quick prayer for others, He knows!  This isolation has been such a gift.

On what used to be what I would call a “normal” day before the 2020 Coronovirus, I would be busy with activities, followed by household chores and time with hubby. During the Covid-19 pandemic where isolation is imperative, I have time to focus on crafts, deep cleaning/organizing, walks, reading and an assortment of peace-filled, quiet activities.  I’m so aware of birds singing and the lack of NOISY outside noise.  I am also quite aware of flitting little thoughts, quick prayers, Holy Spirit-time. My head is not caught up in busy-ness, I hear not only birds chirping outside, but clearly hear God speaking.  AWESOME!  Teeny, small wishes and prayers are handled by our Power-packed Lord!  Reality is He always hears and takes care of us, even the “small stuff,” but the beauty is I AM AWARE of Him.  God loves us unconditionally, even through a pandemic. How wonderful that He never leaves, never backs away, never is too busy, never has His spirit elsewhere. He is as close as my breath.  His love and forgiveness are blessings that are not teeny, small, or considered minutia.   Instead they are HUMONGOUS, GIGANTIC, OMNIPOTENT.

I also have been not so caught up in being busy EVERY minute of EVERY day. Two days ago I actually sat outside in our swing on the back deck, and listened to the birds chirping, and watching their antics, I have missed so many of the simple things in life. Yes, God is AWESOME and wonderful.
