Let Jesus Guide You

The title of this blog is taken from a One Minute Devotional entitled Grace for Today published by Christian Art Publishers.  I have been worrying and obsessing about a title and topic for this week’s blog, promising myself that I would get it done before the deadline.  Well, the deadline is here and the week has just flown by for me with a son visiting, a tropical storm assaulting us and lots of other excuses that got in the way of the writing.

When I woke up this morning (Thursday), I still didn’t have a title or a topic.  Before I even left the bed, I reached for this little book and opened it at random.  My rationale was that maybe there would be some inspiration contained within.

Here’s how the reading for February 23rd began:  How often have you experienced doubt, loneliness and anxiety?  When an important decision has to be made do you find it difficult to make the right choice?  If so, you are relying on your own limited insight.

Aha!  I have been relying on my own limited insight.  In the past, I have had no trouble surrendering my will to God, who has always guided me.  But lately, I have not been asking for the help that gets me through each day with ease.  I needed this reminder.

Here’s the advice that the writer gave:  Regardless of the circumstances, put your plans, your doubts, your fears and your problems before the Lord’s throne of grace and ask Jesus to be your Guide…. You can be assured that the Living Christ will be by your side, leading and guiding you.

It is an act of free will to believe that this is true.  Believing and acting on this belief brings joy, peace and contentment into my life.  It also brought a title and topic for tomorrow’s blog.  Ask and you will receive.

Always remember that God loves you unconditionally.  Read 2 Corinthians 5:6-7.
