The Light will Shine Again

“Faith is a blessing. It is the ability to believe during the darkest times of our life that the Light will shine one day again!”

I have observed countless comments, songs, jokes and inspirational posts on social media since this pandemic began.  Some are intended to be humorous, some serious, some silly and some gloomy.  As is the case with every major event in our world, people always have a response to the happening and strive to have their voice heard in various ways.  All evoke some sentiment in us depending on where we are coming from emotionally at the time and what we may have dealt with in our own lives.  I have laughed out loud, been disgusted and shed tears while reading them so their purpose has not been lost on me.

One of my Facebook friends recently posted the quote that started this blog and it was one I needed to see at the time I read it.  As I have mentioned before, I often have to stop watching the news for a few days as it makes me miserable and feel as if I can’t function. I can control this by ridding myself of what is making me depressed.  At the same time, if I read uplifting things that make me feel closer to God, they make my heart hopeful.  I then feel that I can go on with my life and at the same time, maybe help others.

Such is the intention of these weekly blogs and I hope they do help others with their faith journey as they help me with mine as I write them.  The writing helps me to get in touch with my own feelings, put things in perspective and remind me of all the gifts the Lord has always provided and blessed me with my whole life.  It also prompts me to remember the LIGHT will shine again someday.

I end this blog with a prayer from another Facebook friend. It touched me because it was not only clever but especially timely and will be forever in the same way we know God loves us unconditionally…always has, always will.

Make sure you test positive for faith, keep your distance from doubt and isolate yourself from fear.  Trust in God through it all. Amen.

Patty

Love your positivity! I agree, we all need to take time away from the non-stop “downs” of media.
