Go Where You Are Led

As I write this blog, we are preparing to travel 2200 miles to attend the wedding of our daughter, Tess. Like most parents, we think the sun rises and sets on our child. Our prayers have been answered with her choice of husband. We could not have asked for a better “future son” than Kyle.  He is kind, loving, hard-working, extremely intelligent and treats our daughter like a princess. She is genuinely happy and that is ultimately what we really want for our children.

We truly believe the Lord brought them together through various ways and means. It was indeed divine intervention. They were in the right place at the right time. Coincidence? I think not. I used this phrase in a previous blog because I believe God leads us where we need to be if we open our hearts and listen.

I’m sure all of us can recall a time in our personal histories when we felt a need to be somewhere at a certain time and had that “feeling” we should go. Maybe you really didn’t want to, felt too tired, or had something else to do but the feeling would not leave. You decided to go and you met someone who changed your life.  It may have led you to a life partner like it did for my daughter, to a lasting friendship, to a future employment opportunity or maybe to share the word of the Lord with someone who hadn’t yet experienced it.

If we listen to the Lord and allow Him to lead us where He wants us to go, learn from where He has led us and love Him with our whole heart, our lives and the lives of those we touch will surely be blessed in the way He intends.  God loves us unconditionally and He shows His love for us every day in every way.
