Could you be a Daniel?

Daniel had risen to power under King Darius.  He was a righteous high-level regent, a believer and upstanding in that realm.  Other regents in the same capacity as Daniel were jealous of his promotion and could find nothing to fault him on.  They knew something of a religious issue would have to be their means of convicting or ridding themselves of him.  The other regents/governors approached the king with a mandate that anyone praying to God would be thrown in a lion’s den. The King approved this mandate.

Daniel, as was his daily custom, faced Jerusalem and three times a day prayed to God.  He was overheard, reported to the King and thus thrown into a sealed pit with lions. The king anguished over this as Daniel was a favorite.  As Daniel was taken to the pit, the king reminded Daniel his God would get him out of this.  That night the king fasted and the next morning went to the sealed enclosure to learn Daniel was unscathed. Of course, our God, who loves us unconditionally, had sealed the mouths of the lions.  The conspirators were subsequently thrown into the pit and the lions consumed them immediately.

Could you be a Daniel? Are you strong enough in your faith convictions?  Are you tossed into situations appearing to be overwhelming and with no possible positive outcome? Have pits and valleys on your life’s journey been rocky and tumultuous? Who brought you through the valleys?  Daniel’s faith moved huge mountains of impossibilities; it literally closed the mouths of hungry lions.

Lean into God.  Wrap yourself in Jesus’ teachings to feed your soul. Every pursuit of faith extended to God will be rewarded.  You will be strengthened and feel His power within you. Be strong in the Lord.  We can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us.

Do not allow the jaws of the faith snatchers to paralyze you.  Stay steadfast in the Lord and He will keep you from being a lion’s meal. Trust in the Lord to tame the beasts that plan to attack. Nourish your soul with God’s powerful Words. Whether thrown into a pit of despair, struggling to march forward or already sitting atop your mountain of success, He loves us unconditionally.
