Uncertainty, hatred, turmoil, fear . . . as we approach Election Day, our country is filled with this negativity.   Yes, it makes us angry and our stress level rises.   We worry for ourselves and for our country. 

Then we read Jesus words in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

How beautiful are those words?   Can we shift our attention?  Can we focus our hearts and minds on God, no matter what is going on around us?  Can we choose Him above all else and find His perfect peace even in these chaotic days?

When we let our Lord’s unconditional love quiet our hearts, then we may be able to share His peace.  I’m reminded of the words of St. Francis of Assisi, “Lord Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace.”   I hope you’ll enjoy listening.
