It’s that time of year again. Give thanks, share a big meal, feast with family and friends. Repeat in 364 more days.
Quakers have an interesting perspective on Thanksgiving. They do notrecognize holy days or as we call them “holidays.” They believe our Lord rules every day, always. There would be no reason to celebrate one day over another. God is present, in charge every day.
Would it be wrong to recognize Thanksgiving Day? My opinion is that it would not be wrong, but could the feeling of “thankfulness” be daily? Could the full feeling of a feast of warmth, family and thankfulness be an everyday component to your being? What a concept, Thanksgiving EVERY day! God loves us unconditionally and for that powerful truism we should be thankful every moment of every day.
May your Thanksgiving be bountiful with blessings (daily and on the fourth Thursday of November). May you embrace God’s cornucopia of gifts to you and praise Him with a thankful heart. May your harvest of miracles and good things in your life be received with an abundance of thankfulness.
Happy Thanksgiving…every day!
