“We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
How succinctly Dr. King reminds us. Immigrants all, we or our families came to this nation from countries around the world. We came in the early days of America or very recently. We traveled in first class, in steerage, or on a slave ship. We brought with us native languages and religions. We seemed different. But here we are all in the same boat, we need to work together.
In a similar vein, Paul reminded the Galations that in God’s kingdom there are no differences, we are all one, all “in the same boat” shall we say? “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galations 3:28
You are a precious child of God. No one else is more important than you. No one else is less important than you. We are one in Christ Jesus. His unconditional love extends to all of us. Can we work together for the benefit of all?
