Spring is here!

Each day we notice the rebirth of the trees, plants, and flowers.  Tiny shoots are popping up through the ground; trees are leafing out; flowers are beginning to bloom.  But those delicate beginnings cannot sustain themselves.  They require both water and food to nourish them as they grow.  If not, they will only wither and die.

We were “watered” in our Baptism – reborn as children of God – sealed with the cross of Christ.  Thus began our Christian growth. But, we need food, too.

The word of God feeds and nourishes us as we continue to grow. The word fills us with His truth and direction, it fills us with God’s love.  “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”  (Psalm 119:105)

Each morning when I get up, I quietly read my devotions. I give thanks to God for the new day in my life and His faithfulness to use this time to be nourished and grow my faith through His word.  (2 Corinthians 4:16) “Our inner self is renewed day by day.”

God’s love for you is boundless, and best of all it is unconditional. Our God longs to fill your life with peace and holiness. As we spend time with His Word, He cultivates the growth of our roots in Him. Be open to His love. Then we can spring forward and share His unconditional love with others.
