Lighthouse

A lighthouse is a maritime structure/building that is built as a watchtower with lights from within reflecting off lenses to warn seagoing vessels of hazards and help guide them through water passages and away from dangerous shoals or rocky shorelines.

When Jesus chose you to be His, (John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you), His light was given to you.  If you allow that flame to be fanned, the light grows.  We can accomplish this by studying God’s Word.  We can share the Good News. We can involve ourselves with a community of believers. We can serve those in need.  We can pray for others.  Each of our efforts fuels the flame from within.

Could we be a lighthouse?  Could our very body, soul and spirit reflect God’s love for us? As a child of our most high God, there is a light burning within us.  It can remain a burning ember but has the possibility of igniting into a powerful light for others. As our body houses this holy gift of light, it can guide others to Jesus and His loving arms.  Just as a watchtower/lighthouse guides ships through waters with its reflected light, so we too, can guide others to the safe haven of God’s love for each one of us. John 3:16.

Fuel the flames.  Stoke the fire from within.  Fan the embers. Ignite the gifts you have been given.  Strengthen the structure and become a mighty LIGHTHOUSE that beams the Light of Christ within you, so others may see the Holy Light of our God, who loves us unconditionally, and find their way to Him.
