I save a lot of communications that have been sent to me during the year.  These writings strike me as a special lesson at the time and sometimes they come at just the right moment to help me get through a time of struggle or provide an uplifting memo when I might need one.  The following is just such a missive and I decided to share it today.

Have you ever considered that God has fallen in love with you? He sends you flowers every spring.  He sends you sunshine every morning.  Whenever you want to talk, He listens to you.  He can live anywhere in the universe but he chooses to live in your heart.  God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow and sun without rain. He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.  Amen.

This was sent to me during Covid quarantine and it especially spoke to me as I hope it does to you as we sometimes struggle in our day to day lives. Things are not always going to be like we would like, but we can be thankful for God’s unconditional love for us every day and His promise to help us if we just ask. 

Today is Saturday.  Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is unknown and all we have is today.  We can be thankful for this new day.  We can be happy and grateful the Lord takes our hand and guides our steps through this coming week.  He promises He will direct us and pilot us in the right direction.  All we need to do is listen to His words and follow His lead.  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.  Psalm 32:8

What a simple concept and one that offers so much comfort for us.  What an awesome God we have and what a gift we have been given through Him!
