Shake n’ Bake . . . and I Helped

Raising two boys was the BEST…well, except when it came to chores. For some reason, their dad and I had divided up the chores.  He did everything outside, watering the plants, cleaning and adding chemicals to the pool, mowing the yard, washing the car etc.  I did everything inside the house, cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing…you get the picture.  The boys did EVERYTHING their dad did.  They followed him around like he was the Pied Piper; this meant he got lots of help with his set of chores.  Me, not so much, though both boys made their bed and straightened their rooms. 😊

I Peter 4:10-11  God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings.

Fast forward to now and I have the BEST daughters-in-law.  God loves me unconditionally AND also gave me the gift of these wonderful women. Not only are they beautiful, smart, talented women, but they HELP me (so does my beautiful, talented step-daughter).  When we have big family gatherings, these lovely girls, cook, set the table, wash dishes…like magicians my kitchen looks fabulous, the simmering food smells delicious and their kitchen cleanup is awesome! I may, at one time, have held down the “fort” of inside chores, but what a gift for my senior years to have HELP.

I am blessed with three granddaughters who, like their moms, when they visit they “shake it, bake it and HELP!”  I love each and everyone of them and consider them treasures.  God is so good, He even helps with chores, by gifting me with these super ladies!  My helpers each have multiple special abilities and they are the BEST and they use them to help each other and me!      PS/hubby does the dishes when it’s just the two of us…he is a “keeper!”
