The title is asking you to visualize and perhaps “hear” the call from one canyon-like area to another where echoes resound gloriously. Hello…..hello
Mother Teresa said, “Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless. ”I have most certainly found this to be true. A simple compliment or kind word offered to you can stay with you throughout your entire day.
One of my favorite books in the Bible for a quick “thought” is Proverbs. I call it my “pearls of wisdom” book. God inspired, sage advice! Proverbs 16:24 “Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” As a side note, archeologists have discovered honey in an Egyptian tomb supposedly about 3000 years old. The honey was still edible. Honey when stored properly, does not spoil. Isn’t this great news? If Kind words are like honey and their echoes are endless, let’s spread a lot of them! How easy is it for us to smile, offer a kind word to a friend or even a stranger, the clerk at a check out counter, a bank teller, your spouse, your neighbor? You get the idea. Just like Mother Teresa said, kind words can be short and easy to speak. The results of kind words filling the heart of the receiver and the warmth felt by the giver are plentiful and long lasting.
A total stranger passed me in a grocery aisle, turned back towards me and said, “I just love your jacket, looks like it is perfect for this windy day.” My mind instantly left “grocery list mode” and my face perked up into a smile and I said “thank you.” I was immediately struck with how quickly those kind words made the chore of grocery shopping not feel like drudgery. I was still smiling 4 aisles later.
If each of us, God’s children who are loved unconditionally, would share a kind word, what would echo around this world? Love, joy, blessings, smiles, kindness, caring….hm? Worth a try! Let’s do it!
H-E-L-L-O…..hello Start your echo of kindness right now.
