Every Sunday we profess our faith with the Apostles or Nicene Creed. We state our belief in one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We know that it is the Spirit who leads us. It took me many years to come to that understanding, after years of worrying about the consequences of my sin.
Along the way I met a man who was on fire with the Word of God. He knew his scripture, and I felt a still small voice urging me to listen to him. I started soul searching. I read the bible front to back. I was convinced by his testimony that what really mattered was admitting to God the Father that I was indeed a sinner. I needed to confess that and accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. When I did so I felt such joy and relief. I now realized that from the day I was baptized, the Holy Spirit had sealed me as a child of God.
My point is this. From date of birth to date of death, Abba our Father and Creator loves us unconditionally. He loves us so much that He gave His only Son Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins. He unleashed His Holy Spirit to seal all of us who confess and believe in Jesus until the day of redemption. Jesus said, “I will be with you always even unto the end of the ages.”
As we fervently pray, the Spirit guides us into righteous behavior. As a believer I now know that I was saved by the grace of God. I know what Jesus did for me on that cruel cross. Looking back, I know that whenever I allowed the Spirit to lead me, He always was right.
This is my first blog. I was scared to death to begin writing. But the Holy Spirit was there to lead me. I was convinced that I was called to do this.
Remember to listen to His still small voice. Know that the Holy Spirit will lead you to be right where God wants you to be. He loves you; He loves you unconditionally.
Amen and Maranatha, my brothers and sisters!
