This writing is another post I received from a friend on Facebook and I thought I would share it. It is written by Christopher Simon.
The following is a short list of essential principles for living well. You may not agree with everything, but the spirit of the list is certainly supported by experience.
- Be yourself but strive to be the best possible version of yourself.
- Let others be themselves and don’t try to change or control others.
- Encourage others to be the best possible version of themselves.
- Accept criticism gracefully and thank those who point out your faults.
- Be quick to forgive.
- Be at home in the world and believe that God has everything under control.
- Be thankful for what you have, but also for what you don’t have.
- Be gentle with yourself.
- Be even gentler with each other.
- Let love be the guiding principle of your life.
“Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.” Hebrews 13:1 NIV
I would add one final principle to this list.
Remember that God loves you unconditionally and gave us the greatest gift of our lives through the death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus Christ. Through that gift, we are forgiven and greatly blessed. Thanks be to God!
