The Lord is Near

“The Lord is near to all who call upon Him. To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him. He will hear their cry and save them.” Psalm 145:18-19

When I was confirmed on March 22, 1959, I was given this memory verse. It became a foundation for my life.

To ALL who call upon Him. We are never alone with Him. We were not created to be alone. In Genesis, God says that it is not good that man should be alone. We should not live in isolation. We belong to a community of faith — the whole family of God here on earth. Others can support and sustain us, and we in turn can support them.

Let us consider one another daily in prayer and in our actions. Everyone needs support, especially during this time of pandemic. Jesus said, “I am with you always.” The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. His unconditional love will support us throughout all the days of our lives. We only need to go to Him in prayer and feel His presence.

Have you called on God in prayer today? I have and I do daily. He answers. The answer isn’t always what I expect, but the way that He knows is best. Put your trust in Him. He will never leave you or forsake you.

Faith is not hoping that God will be with us. It is KNOWING that He is. He loves you unconditionally.

“The Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not leave you or for sake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
