“How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! Therefore, the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.” Psalm 36:7
If you were blessed with children, you will remember how they trusted in you. Did they worry about having a roof over their heads? Did they fret about a next meal? Probably not. They had parents; they trusted you to provide. As I write these words, I am reminded of the countless suffering children in the world who have no such assurance; they have no abba, no parent who is able to provide for them. We pray for them. Open our eyes to ways in which we can help.
Ah, but we all are children who have a loving father; children who need not fear. Sometimes we stew and fret. We worry about enough money to cover our needs. We are anxious about our health and that of our loved ones. We fret about matters, local and national, over which we have no control. We need reminders that we have been adopted by our heavenly Father. We are free to call out to him – Father, Abba, Papa. We cannot comprehend how such a mighty God would choose to look upon creatures such as us. We can only fall down before him and thank him.
I pray that you will be surrounded by the comfort of God, your Father, in every circumstance this day brings. Remember, His unconditional love is yours.
