I will just guess that most of you reading this blog will be folks who give thanks. You do not wait until the 4th Thursday of every November to offer God your thanks.
“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!” 1 Chronicles 16:34
So, just what is it you are thankful for in your life? Most probably you do remember to thank God for your spouse/significant other, your children, your home, extended family, employment, health, nature etc. All of those “thank yous” though quite important, pale when we thank God for the gift of His Son. Thank you to our Heavenly Father for choosing us. Thank you to God for His mercy and grace; they are such important gifts. Many thanks should be offered for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by whose stripes we are healed.
During this Thanksgiving season, as you spend time in “thankfulness” with family and/or friends, be sure Jesus is thanked for all that you have been given. Remember His sacrifices for you; His unconditional love for you; and His grace and mercy. These remembrances should be part of your daily prayers. Your very life and breath are a gift from God.
Happy Thanksgiving to all and may your thankful heart be filled to overflowing. Your blessings are many. May the Holy Spirit stir the seeds of thanksgiving within you.
