My husband printed a really colorful chart showing a countdown from 100 to 1.  I laminated it and put it on my bulletin board and started marking off the countdown for the last 100 days until retirement from teaching.  The anticipation grew with each day crossed off. Expectancy and eagerness filled me.

The length and breadth of the Old Testament shows a people, generation after generation, waiting for the Messiah. Each new male child born, every prophet that was heard, amazing signs and sites, all had curious wonderings about the Messiah. Great anticipation and eagerness filled them.

How blessed are we that we know our Messiah! With much joy we have the season of Advent to focus on our countdown to the yearly celebration of His arrival and Holy birth. With eagerness we mark off time as His birthday moves closer and closer.  Certainly, His Holy presence in our lives can be celebrated daily.

Allow your hearts and minds to be full of expectancy, anticipation and eagerness.! May this Advent Season be made special and holy in your life.  Fill your time with eager anticipation of the coming celebration. The reason for the season is Him!
