Silent Night, Holy Night

What just happened yesterday? Christmas Day, the annual commemoration of our Lord’s birth.  If you were at home, or walking through the streets, perhaps even caroling, or at a church service, the song, Silent Night was perhaps on your program. Silent Night, Holy Night, all is calm, all is bright. Was it?  Was your celebration of this Holy time, calm and bright? Were you present, mindful, in the moment?

Truly it did not matter if your tree was trimmed to perfection or if you even had one.  It did not matter if you sent Christmas cards, or chose not to send them.  Huge family gathering or quiet time with a friend, no matter.  Feeling His presence and being mindful of the gift of His birth should truly be a Holy Night experience.

Many of us get caught up in the “season,” and over extend ourselves with Christmas shopping, gift wrapping, holiday baking, and assorted seasonal social obligations.  Pressure, perhaps even feeling at your wit’s end. Your remembrance of yesterday and SILENT NIGHT, HOLY NIGHT, should bring you to the point of peace and comfort.  Our Messiah was born. His birth is remembered. His love is unconditional. Find the peace of this Holy season and allow yourself to be still and silent.

Job 22:21 “Agree with God, and be at peace; in this way good will come to you.”

Silent Night, Holy Night.  Cherish the calm.  Appreciate the bright Light, our Lord and Savior, Jesus, was sent for your salvation.
