A Do-Over, A Mulligan

I love New Years!  Each year as I look back on the previous year just passed, I remember all the good things that happened, the trials I have endured, and the lessons I have learned.  It is good to think back and feel the weight of the year’s events.  And great to leave the weight of the year behind me.

But looking forward, the year ahead is a clean slate!  January is an annual do over, a mulligan.  We get a chance to start anew.  It is a time to hope, to dream, to imagine, to plan, and to set goals.

It is also a time to reimagine ourselves, in God’s image.

Do you set Christian goals for yourself?  Most of us don’t, we are so present in our earthly world.  But this year I challenge you to set Christian goals for yourself.  Take an inward look and see what God sees in you.  What gifts has He given you?  How can you honor Him by making good use of those gifts?  Read Romans 12 and reimagine yourself in His eyes, the eyes of the one who loves you unconditionally, every hour of every day.
