As a young widow, at 39 years of age, I very clearly remember pleading with God, after my young husband’s death, to please just write His message across the sky that my husband was safe in God’s arms and pain-free. The sky writing never happened.
It has taken several more years and more of life’s experiences and definitely more time in His word for me to recognize God speaks to us in so many varied ways, and He did in fact answer my query from many years before. Have you ever read something that gave you just the answer you had been seeking, or perhaps a friend called and said what you had been needing to hear, or taking a walk though nature calmed your questions and you knew you were experiencing a “God Moment?”
Matthew 7:7-8, “Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Anyone who seeks, finds. If only you will knock, the door will open.”
God loves us unconditionally and will answer but most likely it will not be a phone call from Him or a plane flying a banner displaying your answer. If you are open to Him and prayerful, He will provide His answer to you in His time and in His way.
I know that I know that I know my dear young husband is safe in God’s arms and pain-free. That answer has been given to me in so many varied ways: Scriptures that assure me of our Heavenly home and new bodies, vivid dreams of my healthy husband, devotional reflection in stillness, a random “thinking of you” card from a friend received with a perfect assurance thought and a still small voice from within my soul.
Yes, no, and wait are all answer possibilities with our Lord. Create a right and receptive spirit within yourself. He hears you and will answer.
