Our journey through Epiphany continues.  It’s a time of light and revelations; a time of Magi and journeys; a time of angels and a star leading to the most Holy One.  It’s a time of reverence for Christ the King.  Wonder of wonders, it wasn’t a one-time deal.  The message is that Jesus comes to us, he is revealed to us, he is here for us now.  With Jesus at our side, we truly walk on Holy Ground.

I’m fond of the wonderful hymn composed by Geron Davis.

“We are standing on Holy Ground
And I know, I know there are angels all around
Let us praise, Jesus Christ
For we are standing in his presence on Holy Ground.”

It gives me chills to ponder the truth that as we meet together there are angels gathered with us, and as we depart on our solitary ways the unseen angel of the Lord is present.   Some among us have had the privilege of seeing the visitation of the angel, many of us will never experience that blessing.  Nonetheless, there ARE angels all around, seen or unseen they are evidence of God’s unconditional love for us.
