A Shift in Focus

Life comes with ups and downs.  When times are good, it’s easy to praise God, but when times are difficult we sometimes find ourselves focused on the sorrows and troubles in life.  We may find ourselves looking at our glass and only seeing that it’s half empty, and miss that it’s also half full.  When you’re focused on the negative things in life, it’s time for a shift in focus.  Even in the midst of sorrow, God gives us blessings.  Look for the blessings in your life and start and end each day giving thanks to God for what God’s given you.  Start with the basics: life, love, taste… and end with the gift of Christ.  An attitude of gratitude will set you back on the right path and help you to enjoy and appreciate all God’s given you.  Perhaps you’ll discover that when your glass has only a few drops remaining, God will refill your glass when you give thanks for those few drops.  Read Psalm 84:11, and remember: God loves YOU unconditionally.
