Sunday School lessons told us the story. The Bible spells it out in the Gospels. A pastor undoubtedly preached this multiple times. Do you fathom what lives inside of you?
Jesus was born. He walked among the outcasts, the lowly, the needy and taught them, healed them and asked them to follow Him. He baptized. He preached. He taught. He suffered. After his crucifixion and death, He rose, having died for our sins and salvation….and then He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within us.
You are chosen by God to be His! How incredible that you are NEVER alone! You may allow yourself to feel lonely, but through baptism, living inside you is the Holy Spirit. Learn to know the Source. Living within you, closer than your breath, nearer than your heartbeat, is the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you” (John 16:13–14)
Martin Luther gave this explanation in the Small Catechism, “I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith. In the same way He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith.
Our gracious Heavenly Father, who loves you unconditionally, has placed Himself, as the Holy Spirit within you. Know your source. Feel Him within your very being. Rely on Him!
