We have an eventful week ahead.  Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday, Fastnacht, or Mardi Gras, as you choose.  Wednesday our attentions turn to the more sobering thoughts of Ash Wednesday.   But as you can see, today is Monday, just plain ordinary Monday.   My inspiration is running low.

Then I saw this little message from The Church Mouse.  It was a simple reminder that I don’t need a “special” day every day.  I don’t need a noble cause to proclaim.  I don’t need the insight to share my deepest thoughts.  I think it’s a good day to simply say thank you.  Won’t you join me?

God, you have given us a world overflowing with natural beauty – thank you.

God you see us wallowing in the hatred and prejudice of our humanness, but you don’t turn away and give up on us – thank you.

God, you have placed us on earth with family and friends, we are not alone – thank you.

God, you have given us all that we need for our daily lives, and more so that we might share – thank you.

God, for your unconditional love and your never-failing presence with us – thank you.

And for you my dear readers – thank you.
