We’re walking through the reflective days of Lent.  Our journey is a time for repentance; the special season of the year to focus on our sin and our Savior’s love for us, a love so deep it took him to the cross.  As we walk this journey we long for God’s presence along our way.  We yearn to hear the whisper of his voice, to feel his guiding hand.

There’s a beautiful Lenten song composed by Ricky Manalo that conveys this comforting message.  The chorus is as follows:

“Beyond the days of hope and mystery
We see a light of faith renewed,
And in our longing we thirst for guidance
To walk with you day by day.”

We walk these days in reverence.  At the same time, we look beyond these forty days.   We’ve read the story before.  Praise be to God, we know the ending.
