Not Perfection, but Perfect for Me

We are talking about a HUGE blessing bestowed on me, my parents. Were they perfect? No.  Were they perfect for me? Yes.  I was given a loving home, caring, loving parents who brought me up in the church. My parents fed, clothed me, guided me and taught me the joy of humor, positivity and the importance of kindness to others.

David wrote in Psalm 27: Listen, God, I’m calling at the top of my lungs: ‘Be good to me! Answer me!’ When my heart whispered, ‘Seek God,’ my whole being replied, ‘I’m seeking him!’ Don’t hide from me now!

You’ve always been right there for me;don’t turn your back on me now.
Don’t throw me out, don’t abandon me; you’ve always kept the door open.
My father and mother walked out and left me, but God took me in.”

This sounds like a cry for help from David.  He is pleading for God to hear him and be with him and care for him.  Even when his parents will be gone, He knew God would be there. At this time in my life, both of my parents are enjoying the comfort of being at home with God.  The loss of my folks was a jolt filled with pain.  The missing is the hard part.  I’m comforted by knowing they are with Jesus, but selfishly, wish I could talk with them again. BUT the best news is God kept the door open, as we read in David’s words. God has not abandoned us.  He is the perfect comfort and loves us unconditionally.  We may plead, pray, cry out to God about the trials and tribulations of this life, but we are not abandoned.  As believers, we are His.  We have Him, His love, and His comfort.  Pour out your heart, call from the top of your lungs, as David did.  You will be heard and you will feel your Heavenly Father’s presence stir within you. Be blessed!
