Big prayers pour into Heaven from all of us, healing for a loved one, end the World Pandemic, (at this writing) stop the invasion of Ukraine and the senseless slaughter of civilians, and unite our torn nation. This loving God, who sees and knows all, is in charge and we must remember to thank Him for being omnipotent and all powerful.
Having pondered the BIG concerns, I had a very quick fleeting thought regarding flowers for our church altar. I signed up to pay for the bouquets to be placed in our sanctuary one Sunday and gave them in memory of my first husband and father of my children. As I was writing the check to submit, I had another flash thought, the bouquets at church never had roses. (I had covered his casket 33 years before with yellow roses, as my husband had known them to be a favorite of mine.) For some reason, this 33rd year after his death had brought back many memories and I spent some time reflecting on our life and even experienced a large wave of grief, all these years later. Sunday arrived and as I glanced at the altar flowers, I was astonished. Each bouquet held beautifully arranged flowers and three yellow roses.
Isn’t our God wonderful? A teeny, tiny passing thought was addressed and there were yellow roses. My eyes welled up in tears as I praised and thanked God for knowing my every thought and feeling and sending His unconditional love to me in the form of yellow roses.
Deuteronomy 33:27 states, “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms…” I knew I was at that moment and always, enveloped in His everlasting arms. Continue to send your prayers, BIG or small and know that God is in charge. The optimum we can pray for is that HIS WILL BE DONE. Be blessed, thankful and praised-filled.
