Provisions, Abundance, But Why?

2 Corinthians 9:8-11  “GOD can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done… He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.”

How wonderful is our loving Father? According to the above passage, He can pour on blessings to us in astonishing ways. Why? Paul was writing to the Christian community he established in Corinth, Greece.  What a powerful message he was delivering to them!  We are loved unconditionally and when given an abundance of blessings, we are directed to SHARE!  You’ve heard the expression, “sharing is caring.”  Paul’s teaching might just be what that phrase is based on.  You are given so much and it is for a reason.  You are meant to share what you have.

What exactly are you to give?  Your time and your talent for starters.  Are you someone who is an expert in your field? Could you volunteer your expertise?  Does your hobby result in a product that you can donate? This list of your abundant gifts from God could go on and on. We all have time to give a hug.  We all have time to LISTEN.  We all have time to donate (look in your closet, I think there are items you no longer wear or want and a thrift store is waiting for your gift.)

Our gracious Father gives to us an abundance and His unconditional love for us is a bonus.  Share your gifts.  Give of your time.  Your neighbor, your church, your community, your world awaits your gifts.  Be generous.  Remember you cannot OUT-give the GIVER!
