Paint Chips and Texture

If you have ever painted your own home, or even just a room in your home, you may have ventured to a paint store. The wall is lined with strips of paint chips.  If you are looking for blue, you will find 25 or more blue strips that each have 5 chips of different hues to choose from.  Eeks, egads, how do you make a choice?  Each is blue in its own way.

I was thinking people are much like paint chips.  Lol!    Funny comparison, but still rather true.  We come in so many different shades and skin tones.  Remember the children’s song:  Jesus loves the little children of the world, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight? Just think of all the color “chips” that represent each of us, hues from light to dark.

You can paint your walls, (when you are finally able to make your selection), and then decide on the texture and sheen.  Do you want a “flat” paint color or semi-gloss?  Do you want textured with paint sculpting or perhaps a smooth finish? So many choices just to paint a room or house.

We come textured too.  Some have smooth, flawless skin, others have a hairy texture, or wrinkles or blotches and splotches.  Gee whiz, we are so like that wall of paint chips, so varied!  God created us all and showers us with His grace, mercy and unconditional love.  I am blessed to attend a church that is accepting of all “chips.”  Differences make us unique children of God.  If you select a paint chip and or paint you do not like, you can repaint, or adapt.  When God is not pleased with us, He may allow some “repainting” or “retexturing” to pull us back into His flock. We are His “chips.”  Accept others that may have a different “hue or texture” and know they too are children of our most High loving God.
