This is a follow-up to my sermon yesterday. I typically preach anywhere from 10-15 minutes. God always has more to say than I do! The theme yesterday was to faithfully, persistently, pray. We will never wear Him down with our incessant petitions. Even if they sound ridiculous in our mind and voice. Pray that no one else bids on this house? That the person I am dreading to confront would suddenly get very sick? That it wouldn’t rain on my golf game?
I spoke about aligning our prayers according to God’s purpose. We ought to know ourselves well enough to avoid the foolish requests. Once we feel in our heart and soul that what we ask for us congruent with what we believe in faith, then go for it. Unceasingly. Expect to be surprised by God’s answer, for He always knows ourselves better than we ourselves, and knows what we truly need. Aligned with God’s will, we have tremendous spiritual power. Trees uproot and replant in seas. Mountains move. Be aware also that others, known or unknown, may be also praying for you. God listens and fulfills without our help.
Frequency is the key.
It will become central in our otherwise crazy lives.
As natural as breathing. Sharing our burdens and desires with a trusted friend. Everything that happens in our lives, even the seemingly mundane, will be heard by The Most High.
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer. From the sublime to the ridiculous. May your ongoing inward dialogue be one of ceaseless praise, trusting in the unconditional love that is ours through faith in Christ Jesus.
