When it All Seems to be Falling Apart

Today I am passing on something old and borrowed, to help when you are feeling blue.

We’ve done the quarantine, isolation, and strict social distancing. It was harder than ever to find happiness. But true, inner happiness has little to do with what’s going on around you. I’m talking about the inner happiness that wakes up grateful for the air in your lungs. So many must  rely on oxygen via a tube in their nostrils to breathe. The roof over your head; many are homeless. Choosing to smile and enjoy life no matter what you’re facing. When life doesn’t go according to plan, you can be happy in the small stuff by:

  • expecting less, acknowledging what you have and cherishing it.
  • Living for today, appreciating each step in the journey.
  • Being flexible, having an open mind, and thinking positively.
  • being social. The pandemic did a job on us. The isolation and loneliness we already experience in this technological age only intensified. Yes, being happy requires a purposeful mindset.
  • Not comparing yourself to others.
  • Not worrying. How often we read this in God’s Word, meant to encourage us!

Dear blog reader, I am sure I am not telling you anything new. But just like announcements at church(!), it seems we can never hear something too much. Unless it’s gossip or being held captive by a “talkaholic”. The Good News is that we can be cheerful, knowing that God has, is, and will continue to, overcome the world. His unconditional love puts us back together time after time.
