Praying with our Angels

The influence of our angels cannot be denied. As a minister, I refer to them when visiting with someone near death. Each of us has them, so I do mean our angels. They are the heavenly beings most tied in with the Holy Spirit, and therefore ours as well. They guide us, rescue us, and accompany us most profoundly as we near the end of our earthly sojourn. Our meditative prayer moments keep fear at bay. The most free-flowing conversations are those we have in the silence of our minds and hearts. We are free to accept and be okay with any feelings that occur in those sacred, holy moments. We appeal to heaven for help, then are calmed in the quieter moment of reverence.

Our angels do not prod; they merely assist and encourage. You will discover, if you haven’t already, the right time and place to facilitate this wondrous praying environment. While finding that right time and place is a good discipline in our prayer life, you may still call upon our angel/spirit guide throughout your day. These too are sacred moments that refresh us when we’re depleted. Like sweeping out the garage and shaking off the cobwebs, we can give those worries away.

To pray is to reconnect with our angels and the Holy Spirit. That lifeline revitalizes and inspires. I like to refer to our church as the “equipping station”. As we worship and glorify God, we receive the tools, the gifts of His divine presence. We can be like “E.T.” and “phone home.” Asking our angels for the unconditional love and assistance, we can know for certain that we will never be denied.

Thank you, Pastor Art, for this wonderful mini prayer lesson. I grew up with a guardian angel but I seem to have grown out of awareness. Your blog is a good reminder that angels are always with us- no matter what our age.
