It’s so easy to…..fall in love. It’s so easy….with Easy Bake Oven. It’s so easy, it’s a snap. It’s so easy, it’s a cinch.
Let’s think about this, here is the scenario. Your dear friend has not been feeling well. The subsequent doctor’s appointment reveals a diagnosis that will require changes in lifestyle, perhaps surgery. The friend shares this with you. You are a believer in our dear Lord. How easily, words of encouragement flow from you to your friend. You can pray for and with them. You can assist with needs. You can rattle off belief and faith and hope because, it’s so easy!
Flip the story around. This time it is you who ends up at the doctor. It is you who faces an uncertain outcome of possible surgery and definite changes in your life. Guess what? Belief and faith and hope are not always so easy to “feed” to ourselves. Seeking the positive, seeing the light, feeling the warmth of the sunshine, knowing our Lord loves us unconditionally, sometimes seems to just vanish when we are the ones who need the comfort and reassurance of those powerful gifts. Take a deep breath, you are normal. It genuinely is easy for most people to comfort and care for others with a listening ear, words of encouragement, a thinking-of-you card, a caring phone call, but the clouds will roll in on us personally when we “wear the shoe” of need and or despair.
Belonging to a community of believers, be it your church, your family, your neighbors truly helps. God will enlist His believers to share His strength providing you with renewed belief, faith and hope. Do not let your pride block their joy in giving you the respite and comfort you may be needing. It so easy! Be a giver who shares and is available and be a receiver who is thankful and humble.
May God’s grace and mercy pour out upon you!
Jill
