My boys’ dad died when they were young. At fourteen and ten years of age, their world as they knew it was over. Their dad was so active in their young lives, though busy with his own company, there was always time for the boys. His death was significant. Fast forward 30+ years and my oldest son remarked that so many of the family things we did were not even in my youngest son’s memories. He simply was too young to remember family trips, adventures, laughter, and daily life. I was encouraged to create a “picture” album for my youngest and label photos from some of these times. This became a project to complete by Christmas. The photos and their dates and reflective thoughts will definitely please him and perhaps even jog a memory or two.
Have you forgotten anything about our Savior? Do you remember He lives within you as the Holy Spirit, the Comforter? Do you remember He has promised to never leave or forsake you? Do you remember He taught you how to pray the Lord’s Prayer? Do you remember that He died for YOUR sins? Do you remember that by his wounds YOU are healed? Do you remember Jesus’s brief life on this earth is well documented in His Word, the Bible? It is filled with His unconditional love for you, stories to recall and learn from, promises to sustain you and so much more.
We all experience forgotten moments, events from our youth or perhaps even events from last month, but our Dear Savior, has never forgotten us. He is as close as your breath and available 24/7 to create an album of memories for you. Study His Word. Attend a Bible study. Talk and learn from fellow Christians. Share your memories. Develop new memories. Your effort at making your own “Savior album” will most definitely be pleasing and you will reap the gifts He has planned for you. Be blessed.
