How cool is it that the same God who created mountains and oceans thought the world needed one of you too?
This is a quote I recently saw and it prompted me to think about people I have come in contact with in my life. In a blog I wrote earlier, I mentioned how I had learned something from everyone which I have had a relationship. Mostly it was something positive but sometimes it was not. Still, I learned something I have carried with me through my life and hopefully I have grown with each encounter.
That brings me to my next point. We have the privilege of encountering and being influenced by a multitude of people in our lives. All have a variety of talents, personalities, various skill sets and a range of levels of education. Though we may be drawn to certain personality types that may be most like ourselves, we can also be thankful for people unlike ourselves and learn from them. Everyone has a purpose on this earth, rich or poor, highly educated or barely educated and we can learn from them.
Two people in my life who taught me so much about being a Christian were my Great Aunt Hattie and my Aunt Edna. Both would be well over 100 years old now and both had limited educational opportunities but to me, these ladies were the epitome of what a Christian should be. It was clear to them what their purpose here on earth was. Their faith in God was unwavering and their lives reflected this by the way they lived, constantly serving others who needed them and sharing their love as they went. Their lives were not easy and they suffered heartache along the way, but their faith was rock solid and their spirits were resilient.
The words of Hebrews 6:10 tell us God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you helped His people and continue to help them.
No matter your social status, the amount of money you have or the level of education you possess, God loves you unconditionally and He shares this every day by the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God.
