Today – the first day of spring! A new season has begun, even here in Florida. We won’t see the flowering of the forsythia or crocuses poking their way through the ground, but still we welcome springtime. It’s a lovely time of the year before the heat and humidity of summer come upon us.
I always welcome something new, whether it’s a new year, a new day, or a new season. Springtime brings to mind the wonderful song, “All Things Bright and Beautiful.” It begins with like this:
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.
Thank you, God, for the beauty of springtime and the wonders of nature. You’ve given us flowers, each to bloom in its own time, each with its own colors and scent. You have created the birds, so small yet so clever with songs to delight us. You provide for them with rain, sunlight, and a host of creatures for food. The wonder of your creation is beyond our imagination. We can only praise your greatness!
I hope you enjoy this favorite song.
