Planning for Eternity

Making plans is a huge part of our lives.  First the plans are made for you by your parents and then as you grow up the planning is gradually released to you. Throughout your lifetime, you make thousands of plans.  Some of them include planning for vacations and trips which in the big scheme of things will last a week or two.  You dream about the places you will go, what you will do once you get there in part by checking out resources and asking others who have been there what to expect.  It usually costs a lot of money and time and hopefully it will be worth it when you get to your destination.

How many of us are making plans for the biggest journey of our lives? This last stop will last much longer than one to two weeks. It will last for all eternity. Hopefully we are spending a lot of time and thought on this journey.  This final destination doesn’t cost a dime. We don’t need to ask another person what to expect as we have been promised through multiple scriptures which are our resource what it will be like in heaven. One scripture reading is in Revelations 21:4. God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, neither crying or sorrow and neither shall there be any more pain. Doesn’t that sound fabulous?

In John 14:3 we read these words. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. What a “heavenly” promise and a wonderful blessing of which to look forward.

All we need to do is accept what He has offered us through the sacrifice of His Son, Christ Jesus by which He showed us His unconditional love. Thanks be to God!!
