Life goes on. Yes, it surely does whether we embrace each day or slip and slide through a day or trudge slowly through a day…our life goes on. Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” At 5:30 a.m., March 11, many years ago, my young husband died and our family dynamics changed forever. My boys and I were in shock and wondering how to go on, but guess what? Life goes on and each new day was God’s creation. Honestly, for a while, we did not rejoice in each new day and many days we were not glad, but life goes on. Grief has its time and is part of “life” so in reality, life did move right along.
If you find yourself holding on to issues or grievances or perhaps grief, know that life is continuing all around you. “Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 This verse is a reminder that God has NEVER left you. His unconditional love for you is forever. You are NOT alone. He has created a new day with each new sunrise. Thank Him. Each day is truly what you choose it to be. If you choose to thank God for the day, you are acknowledging His Work all around you and in you. With His right hand, He will hold you up and give you strength.
Cherish each day as a new beginning. While we are here and blessed to be children of God, we can embrace the new day and allow God to lead us….even if we are suffering, in pain, struggling, or weak in spirit. His almighty right hand is reaching for you! Clasp it and feel the strength He promises. It’s the day that is new for you to rejoice and praise or simply be still in our Lord.
