A few weeks ago, I had some minor surgery on my outer ear. I came home with one ear heavily bandaged and clearly protruding. There was no discomfort, but even a fleeting glance in the mirror made me immediately aware of this ear. No amount of hairstyling would camouflage it.
This unusual circumstance made me especially aware of ears, which led me to the verse in Matthew 11:15, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Jesus was speaking to John’s disciples, comparing John to the Elijah for whom they were waiting. The words also appeared in Ezekial 3:27, where the Lord was calling Ezekial to be a prophet giving him these words: Thus says the Lord God. “He who hears, let him hear.” Ezekial 3:27
He who has ears, let him hear! We can take those words to heart. Our “ears to hear” may include hearing aids, or we may rely on DSL, sign language to interpret the spoken word. But whatever our situation, the instructions remain . . . let him hear!
God’s telling us to “hear” His word; not just physically allowing the sounds to penetrate our ears, but hearing it, taking it in, absorbing it, thinking on it, and allowing it to shape us. We listen with spiritual ears to hear His voice so that we may follow Him
I found a simple song which expresses the thought so well; for when we hear God’s voice, when we truly listen, our lives will reflect His unconditional love for all.

Don’t think I remember this song. I’m waiting for a ride back home. Truly loved it. My God continue to bless us all! 🙏🏼
