In front of my computer, is my keyboard. In front of the keyboard at the base of my PC are three small rocks. The first one, given to me by a teacher friend, has been poly coated and printed with the words BE BLESSED. The second rock was made from an adult in my sign language classes with the sign for I LOVE YOU painted on it. The last rock was given to me by my nephew from North Carolina, it is a “worry stone.” I think it is wonderful that as I pay bills, read my email, work on my blog, sit at my desk, these three rocks are in my sight. Why is this wonderful? Because, I have attached meaning to them. They are perfect reminders of my Lord talking to my heart. #1 He is telling me to be blessed….so I think of my many blessings and thank Him for them. Then, #2 He reminds me He loves me unconditionally. Rock #3 is known as a worry stone. It is oval shaped and small. It has a small indentation that your thumb can rest on or rub against. Thoughtfully rubbing this small stone, some believe it may release worry and tension and possibly relieve anxiety. I’ll admit to not really being an anxious person, so I do not “use” the stone in this manner, but I do pray for my nephew at each glance I give this rock. He has had a few really tough years recently and our Lord has helped him over each hurdle. Jesus asked us to pray for others and my #3 rock reminds me quickly to pray for others, especially my wonderful nephew. He is raising two great little boys, who know the Lord, too.
Who knew my mini rock collection would keep me so focused and inspired? Hm? Maybe they are my “ rockin’ God Winks!” I love the reminders He puts in my path through this life.
