For All Our Blessings

In this week of Thanksgiving, we are reminded to be thankful; thankful for every blessing which we have received.  As the song said, “Count them one by one.”   We could go on and on trying to list every good thing which the Lord has provided. Generous blessings for each of our days would be multiplied by each day of our lives.  And, for most of us, that number is very large indeed.

I tried to count the blessings that surround me just in this particular moment.  Even that grew to a monumental number.  Physical blessings in the world around us, spiritual blessings of strength and forgiveness, emotional blessings of family and friends, personal blessings for health and strength.

I found a simple song of thanks, sung by a delightful children’s choir, “Thankful” by Shawna Belt Edwards.  Let’s listen and then join these young ones in giving thanks.  The God who loves us unconditionally deserves our thanks for his boundless blessings.
