The Advent Attitude

I was thinking about this topic today. It came to me that the advent attitude of anticipation, preparation and excitement is not something that we should reserve for the first weeks of December.

During Advent, we spend time waiting for the traditional arrival of the Baby Jesus. We adopt a different form of behavior during Advent as we did when we were children in order to receive the Christmas bounty. Why do we need a special season of the year to act in this way?

Every day of our lives is an opportunity to receive the Living Christ into our hearts. Christ is waiting to be welcomed into our lives every day of every year. He comes bearing gifts of grace and unconditional love. Why not throw open the doors of our hearts and show Him in? Make Him comfortable and tell Him how grateful we are to have Him in our lives. Tell Him that you love Him. Don’t wait! Do it today!

Remember God loves you unconditionally. Happy First Week of Advent.
